Lynx Shunt VE.Can (M8) — this is an industrial-grade measuring shunt with a built-in intelligent battery monitor. It is an integral part of the Victron Lynx modular architecture. Its mission is the continuous and accurate tracking of currents, voltage, temperature, and current state of charge (SOC) of storage batteries. All collected data is instantly sent via the VE.Can busbar to the control displays (Cerbo GX / Ekrano GX) and then to the VRM online system.
The module is already equipped with a built-in mounting seat for the main fuse, has both power busbars (plus and minus) on board, and is also equipped with a temperature sensor. Works perfectly in 12, 24, and 48 V networks, digests currents up to 1000 A, and eliminates the need to install separate SOC monitors.
Main Advantages of the Lynx Shunt VE.Can Device
- High-precision analysis of SOC, passing current, voltage, and battery temperature
- Built-in measuring shunt designed for 1000 A
- Instant data output to Cerbo GX and VRM via the VE.Can protocol (RJ45 connector)
- Slot for installing a CNN or Mega type main fuse
- Perfectly neat installation inside the Lynx distribution system
- Versatility: supports any configuration on 12, 24, or 48 VDC
- Presence of a controlled alarm relay (load up to 3 A, 30 V DC)
- Extremely low self-power consumption: from 20 to 60 mA
Key Technical Aspects
Shunt + Smart Battery Monitor
• The current measurement error up to 1000 A does not exceed ±1%
• Perfectly accurate SOC capacity calculation based on the Ah-calculation algorithm
• Continuous telemetry via VE.Can to the main GX nodes
Built-in Fuse Socket
• Designed for installing CNN or Mega Fuse elements
• The fuse itself is selected separately based on the specifics of your power network
Perfect Integration into the Lynx Cascade
Designed to work together with:
• Lynx Power In input module
• Lynx Distributor
• Lynx Smart BMS control blocks
• Includes an RJ10 port for powering and collecting fuse statuses from Distributor modules
Where It Should Be Applied
- Uninterruptible power supply complexes (ESS) — deep analysis of battery duty cycles
- Marine transport — integration with boat displays via the VE.Can network
- Powerful home networks based on MultiPlus and Quattro equipment
- Solar stations in motorhomes, campers, and mobile clinics
- Industrial installations on 48 V with large consumption currents (up to 1000 A)
