The Victron Cyrix-Li-Charge 12/24V-120A intelligent combiner (CYR010120430) — is a smart switching relay designed specifically for safe charging of intelligent lithium iron phosphate batteries (LiFePO₄ Smart series) under the control of the VE.Bus BMS module. Its main task is to provide energy access to the batteries strictly at those moments when the physical condition of the cells allows accepting a charge.
This technological solution perfectly handles charging both single batteries and parallel battery assemblies within 12 V and 24 V networks. Commands for closing and opening contacts come directly from the VE.Bus BMS (digital Charge Disconnect channel), fully automating the power process.
Cyrix-Li-Charge key functionality:
- Smart charge supply — the circuit closes only with ideal battery performance and a "green light" from the BMS
- Instant protective disconnection — at the slightest signs of overvoltage, overheating of cells or their critical supercooling
- Start delay timer — a 3-second pause cuts off random ripples and network interference
- Automatic source monitoring — the relay periodically interrupts the circuit to assess the actual current flow from the alternator or charger
Operational parameters:
- Supported network voltage: 12 V or 24 V (intelligent auto-recognition)
- Permissible direct current: 120 A
- Control logic: external signal via digital Charge Disconnect channel from VE.Bus BMS
- Own energy consumption in open mode: < 4 mA
- Dust and moisture protection class: IP54
- Overall dimensions (H×W×D): 46 × 46 × 80 mm
- Device weight: 0.11 kg
Mechanics of work:
- Cyrix opens the current supply to the battery subject to three conditions:
- The Charge Disconnect control pin is active (a high signal from BMS is supplied)
- At least 13.0 V (or 26.0 V for 24-volt assemblies) is present at the input terminals of the charging source
- A residual voltage from 2 V remains on the battery terminals themselves
- Any floating signal from BMS — for example, due to heating — instantly breaks the circuit
- To control the performance of the power source, Cyrix tests the presence of a charge after 1 hour, and restores the connection if it is present
Popular applications:
- Efficient charging of one or a group of Victron LiFePO₄ batteries
- Building a unified power management system from alternative sources, diesel generator sets, a stationary network and inverters
- Full synchronization with VE.Bus BMS, Cerbo GX and Smart Lithium Battery lines
Main advantages of Cyrix-Li-Charge:
-
Ultra-reliable operation in powerful power systems with high charging currents
-
Seamless and transparent integration with the VE.Bus BMS ecosystem for maximum safety
-
Fully autonomous control over the battery state, eliminating the human factor
