The hybrid inverter MultiPlus 24/2000/50-30 — is a reliable and multifunctional inverter-charger from Victron Energy, combining three key components in a single compact casing: a highly efficient 2000 VA (1600 W) sine wave inverter, a built-in 24 V charger at 50 A, and an automatic power source transfer switch with support for intelligent energy management systems (ESS).
The device is oriented towards use as part of autonomous, backup, grid, and hybrid power supply systems of various scales. If necessary, the system's capabilities are easily expanded: parallel combination of several devices provides up to 30 kVA in single-phase mode, and a three-phase configuration allows achieving a total power of 90 kVA.
Built-in PowerControl and PowerAssist technologies make the hybrid inverter MultiPlus 24/2000/50-30 an optimal solution for solar power plants, emergency power backup, autonomous power supply of buildings, commercial facilities, and mobile transport.
Key advantages of the MultiPlus Compact inverter
The main technical parameters of this model surpass the characteristics of most competing devices from other European manufacturers and significantly outperform budget Asian analogues.
- Power – nominal: 2000 VA / 1600 W, peak: 4000 W — the device confidently ensures the start of loads with high starting currents: pumps, compressors, welding equipment.
- True 230 V sine wave – a guarantee of correct and safe operation of the most demanding consumers: boilers, medical equipment, precision equipment.
- High efficiency up to 94% — maximally efficient conversion with minimal heat loss and weak heating even during prolonged operation under full load.
- Minimal standby consumption – up to 4 W in Search Mode — in the absence of a load, the inverter goes into sleep mode, consuming an insignificant amount of energy from the battery.
- Wide input voltage range 19–33 V – optimized for LiFePO4 batteries. The charging unit and inverter algorithms are easily reconfigured for almost all known types of lithium and lead-acid batteries.
- Operability in the temperature range -40…+65°C – the device maintains full stability under any climatic conditions. Successfully used as part of onboard electrical systems of yachts and cars, allows installation in outdoor cabinets and unheated facilities.
- Operation with any type of generator – gasoline, diesel, inverter, gas. The device has an extensive set of parameters for configuring joint operation with generator units, including a function for automatic control of their start and stop based on battery charge indicators.
- Advanced ecosystem of options and additions — for remote monitoring, control, configuration adjustment, and device firmware updates via the internet.
- VRM cloud platform — a personal power system control center accessible 24/7. Set up PUSH notifications about network failure, battery drop, auto-start of the generator, and other events. Any event can trigger the automatic launch of specified control scenarios.
Technological features
1. Two independent alternating current outputs
The first output – priority and uninterrupted: supplies power to all critical loads even when the external grid completely disappears, switching to the battery without any delays.
The second output – auxiliary: functions exclusively in the presence of power from the external grid or an operating generator. Designed for non-essential loads (boilers, chargers, air conditioners) that do not require power in emergency mode.
2. PowerControl – grid overload protection and smart power distribution
The user sets the maximum allowable value of current consumed from the city grid or generator. The inverter independently controls the distribution in real time: supplying loads has priority, battery charging is performed from the remaining power, without exceeding the set limit.
3. PowerAssist – rapid compensation of peak loads
In the event of a sudden consumption jump that exceeds the capabilities of the grid or generator, the inverter immediately connects the battery to compensate for the power shortage. After the load decreases to a normal level, the system automatically resumes charging the battery.
4. Full integration with solar systems
MultiPlus functions organically as part of both hybrid and fully autonomous (off-grid) photovoltaic installations. Seamless interaction with Victron MPPT controllers and grid PV inverters is provided in modes of self-consumption, backup, and full disconnection from the power grid.
5. Remote monitoring and control
After connection to Cerbo GX or Ekrano GX system controllers (or via the VE.Bus Smart Dongle wireless module via Bluetooth), full remote access to the system is provided through the VRM cloud portal from anywhere in the world.
6. Remote configuration of all parameters
Using the VRM platform or directly connecting a PC via the MK3-USB adapter, you can change any parameter of the inverter at any time: voltage settings, operating modes, current limits, programmable relay logic, and other functions.
7. Parallel and three-phase configurations
Parallel connection of up to 6 inverters into a single powerful single-phase system is allowed. It is also possible to form a full-fledged three-phase configuration from 3 inverters (supporting parallel operation of several devices in each phase). This solution is ideal for powering production equipment, small industrial enterprises, and remote facilities.
Use cases
- Autonomous and backup power supply for private homes, cottages, and dachas
- Office buildings and commercial real estate objects — backup power and tariff consumption balancing
- Farms and agro-industrial facilities — reliable power supply for pumping, compressor, and refrigeration equipment
- Yachts and boats, campers, motorhomes, and caravans – energy independence on any journey
- Production enterprises and workshops – powerful stable power supply for industrial machines and equipment
- Hybrid solar power plants (ESS) – deep integration with PV inverters and lithium battery systems
- Backup power for critical infrastructure (security systems, fire alarms, telecommunications, IT server rooms)
Has the ECE R10-4 (EMC) electromagnetic compatibility standard
ECE R10-4 – is an international electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) standard regulating the use of electronic equipment on vehicles. The document normalizes the permissible levels of radiated interference and establishes requirements for the device's immunity to external electromagnetic influences.
What does the ECE R10-4 certificate mean for Victron Energy inverters?
Low level of electromagnetic radiation
– Inverters do not create radio frequency interference capable of disrupting radio communications, GPS systems, mobile networks, or other electronics of a car, yacht, and industrial transport.
High resistance to electromagnetic interference
– Inverters work stably even under the influence of strong electromagnetic fields and sharp voltage surges typical of freight and construction transport.
Safe integration into the electrical systems of vehicles
– Meets the requirements of the UNECE (ECE), providing the legal right to install inverters in cars, campers, marine vessels, and other transport without the risk of disrupting the engine control unit, ABS system, and other electronic safety systems.
Guarantee of quality and compliance with international requirements
– The ECE R10-4 certificate confirms that Victron Energy products have passed all established tests and fully comply with international safety standards for transport applications.
What does this give users of Inverter Smart inverters?
- Legal operation of equipment in vehicles without additional certification.
- Compatibility with onboard systems – the inverter does not interfere with radio, navigation, autopilot, GPS, and other electrical appliances.
- Reliable operation in harsh conditions – marine vessels, residential trailers, commercial vehicles, special equipment.
- Protection against electromagnetic pulses – the inverter is resistant to abrupt voltage changes in the vehicle's onboard network.
