The hybrid inverter MultiPlus 48/3000/35-50 — is a technologically advanced inverter-charger from Victron Energy, in which three separate functional units are hidden under one cover: a powerful 3000 VA (2400 W) sine wave inverter, a built-in 48 V charger at 35 A, and an automatic power source transfer switch with full support for intelligent energy storage systems (ESS).
The device is designed for operation as part of autonomous, backup, grid, and hybrid electrical installations of various scales. The use of a 48-volt DC bus allows reducing the cable cross-section, lowering losses, and increasing the overall efficiency of the system. The apparatus is easily scalable: parallel configurations give a total power of up to 30 kVA, and three-phase — up to 90 kVA.
Proprietary PowerControl and PowerAssist technologies make the hybrid inverter MultiPlus 48/3000/35-50 an excellent solution for solar power plants, backup power supply systems, autonomous power supply for houses, commercial facilities, and mobile transport.
Key advantages of the MultiPlus inverter
In most key technical parameters, this model stays ahead of competing offers from other European manufacturers and significantly surpasses budget Asian analogues.
- Power – nominal: 3000 VA / 2400 W, peak: 6000 W — reliable start of loads requiring high starting currents: pumps, compressors, heating devices.
- True 230 V sine wave – flawless, completely safe power for any, including the most sensitive consumers.
- High efficiency up to 95% — one of the best indicators in its class. Highly efficient conversion with minimal heat loss and weak heating even during prolonged operation under load.
- Economical standby mode – up to 12 W in Search Mode — without a connected load, the inverter goes into sleep mode, saving battery life.
- Wide input voltage range 38–66 V – optimized for working with 48V LiFePO4 batteries. At the same time, the charger and inverter can easily be configured for the vast majority of existing types of lithium and lead-acid batteries.
- Operability in the temperature range -40…+65°C – the device does not lose stability either in severe frosts or in tropical heat and high humidity. Installation is allowed in onboard systems of cars and yachts, in outdoor cabinets, and unheated facilities.
- Compatibility with generators of all types – gasoline, diesel, inverter, and gas units. The built-in wide range of tuning parameters ensures optimal joint operation with any generator, including a function for automatically controlling its start and stop based on the battery charge conditions.
- Flexible system of additional options and extensions — for remote monitoring, remote control, reprogramming, and firmware updates via the internet.
- VRM cloud platform — a personal energy system control center with 24/7 access. Set up PUSH notifications about grid loss, a drop in battery charge, generator start, and any other events — each of them can initiate an automated control scenario.
Technological features
1. Two independent alternating current outputs
The first output – priority, uninterrupted: instantly switches to the battery upon loss of the external grid, guaranteeing power to all essential loads without any delays.
The second output – auxiliary: active exclusively in the presence of power from the city grid or a running generator. Connect secondary loads here (boilers, chargers) that do not need to work during an emergency.
2. PowerControl – intelligent grid overload protection
The user sets the maximum allowable value for the current consumed from the external grid or generator. The inverter automatically manages the balance in real time: powering loads — is a priority, charging batteries — from the remaining reserve, strictly not exceeding the set limit.
3. PowerAssist – instantaneous battery assistance at peak consumption
As soon as the total consumption exceeds the capabilities of the generator or grid, the inverter immediately activates the battery as an additional power source. After the load normalizes, the system automatically resumes the standard battery charging mode.
4. Full support for solar generation
MultiPlus organically functions in both hybrid and fully autonomous (off-grid) photovoltaic systems. Joint operation with Victron MPPT controllers and grid PV inverters is supported in self-consumption, backup, and complete disconnection from the external electrical grid modes.
5. Remote monitoring and control
Connecting the inverter to Cerbo GX or Ekrano GX system controllers (or via the VE.Bus Smart Dongle module via Bluetooth) provides full remote access to control and view parameters via the VRM cloud portal from anywhere in the world.
6. Remote configuration of parameters
Using the VRM platform or by directly connecting a PC via the MK3-USB adapter, you can change any parameter of the inverter at any time: threshold voltages, operating modes, current limits, programmable relay logic, and other functions.
7. Parallel and three-phase configurations
Parallel combination of up to 6 inverters into a single powerful single-phase system is available. Also, a fully functional three-phase configuration from 3 inverters is implemented with support for parallel operation of several devices in each phase — an optimal solution for industrial enterprises and autonomous mini-power plants.
Use cases
- Autonomous and backup power supply for private houses and cottages
- Office buildings and commercial real estate facilities — backup power supply and balancing tariff consumption
- Farms and agro-industrial facilities — power supply for pumping, ventilation, and refrigeration equipment
- Yachts and boats, campers, motorhomes – complete energy independence on any journey
- Production enterprises and workshops – stable powerful power supply for industrial equipment and machines
- Hybrid solar power plants (ESS) – comprehensive integration with PV inverters and battery energy storage systems
- Backup power for critical infrastructure (security systems, fire alarms, telecommunication equipment, IT server rooms)
Has the ECE R10-4 (EMC) electromagnetic compatibility standard
ECE R10-4 – is an international electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) standard applied to the electronic equipment of vehicles. The permissible levels of radiated interference are standardized, and requirements for the device's immunity to external electromagnetic influences are established.
What does the ECE R10-4 certificate mean for Victron Energy inverters?
Low level of electromagnetic radiation
– Inverters do not generate radio frequency interference capable of disrupting the operation of radio communications, GPS systems, mobile networks, or any other onboard electronics of a car, yacht, or industrial transport.
High resistance to electromagnetic interference
– Inverters work stably under conditions of exposure to powerful electromagnetic fields and sharp voltage surges typical for freight transport, buses, and special construction equipment.
Safe integration into transport onboard systems
– Meets the requirements of the UNECE (ECE), allowing the installation of inverters in passenger cars, campers, marine vessels, and any other transport without the risk of disrupting the operation of the standard control unit, ABS system, and other electronic safety systems.
Confirmed compliance with international standards
– The ECE R10-4 certificate is official confirmation that Victron Energy equipment has passed a full complex of tests and fully meets international safety requirements for use on transport.
What does this give users of Inverter Smart inverters?
- Legal operation in vehicles without additional certification.
- Complete electromagnetic compatibility with onboard systems – no interference with radio communication, navigation, autopilot, GPS, and other electrical appliances.
- Reliable operation in difficult conditions – marine vessels, residential trailers, commercial and special vehicles.
- Protection from electromagnetic pulses – the inverter is resistant to sharp voltage changes in the onboard electrical network.
Communication interfaces
-
VE.Bus port – for parallel/three-phase operation, configuration, and communication with GX controllers for internet connectivity.
-
Programmable relay – allows you to automate necessary processes.
-
Optional Bluetooth – use the VE.Bus Smart dongle to control the inverter directly from your smartphone via the state-of-the-art VictronConnect app.
