The hybrid inverter MultiPlus 24/3000/70-50 — is an outstanding inverter-charger from Victron Energy, combining three functional units in one housing at once: a powerful 3000 VA (2400 W) sine wave inverter, a high-performance 24 V charger at 70 A, and a built-in automatic power source transfer switch with full support for intelligent energy storage and management systems (ESS).
The device was designed to work as part of autonomous, backup, grid, and hybrid electrical systems of various scales. The apparatus is easily scalable: a parallel connection of several devices provides a total single-phase power of up to 30 kVA, and with a three-phase design, 90 kVA is achieved.
Patented PowerControl and PowerAssist technologies turn the hybrid inverter MultiPlus 24/3000/70-50 into a first-class tool for solar power plants, emergency backup systems, autonomous power supply of residential buildings, commercial enterprises, and mobile transport.
Key advantages of the MultiPlus inverter
Most technical characteristics of this model stay ahead of similar offers from other European manufacturers and significantly surpass the parameters of budget Asian solutions.
- Power – nominal: 3000 VA / 2400 W, peak: 6000 W — the device confidently handles the starting of loads requiring high starting currents: pumps, compressors, welding equipment.
- True 230 V sine wave – completely safe and flawless operation of all sensitive consumers without exception.
- High efficiency up to 94% — highly efficient conversion with minimal heat loss and insignificant casing heating even under prolonged load.
- Economical standby mode – up to 10 W in Search Mode — in the absence of consumers, the inverter switches to standby mode, practically not expending battery life.
- Wide operating input voltage range 19–33 V – optimized for LiFePO4 batteries. At the same time, the charger and inverter are easily configured for almost all known types of both lithium and lead-acid batteries.
- Operability in the temperature range -40…+65°C – the device maintains complete stability in any climatic conditions, including arctic frosts, tropical heat, and high humidity. Installation in onboard systems of cars and yachts, in outdoor cabinets, and unheated rooms is allowed.
- Operation with generators of any type – gasoline, diesel, inverter, and gas units. The device has an extensive set of parameters for fine-tuning joint operation with any generator, including an automatic control function for starting and stopping it based on the battery charge level readings.
- Flexible ecosystem of additional options and extensions — for remote monitoring, remote control, reprogramming, and firmware updates via the internet.
- VRM cloud monitoring system — your personal energy system control center in 24/7 mode. Set up PUSH notifications on a smartphone about power loss from the grid, a drop in battery charge to a set threshold, auto-starting the generator, and any other events. Each of them can serve as a trigger for launching automated control scenarios.
Technological features
1. Two independent alternating current outputs
The first output – priority, uninterrupted: provides power to all critical loads without the slightest delay, instantly switching to the batteries upon loss of the external grid.
The second output – auxiliary: active exclusively in the presence of power from the city grid or generator. Designed for non-essential loads (boilers, chargers) that should not discharge the battery during an emergency.
2. PowerControl – intelligent grid overload protection
The user sets the maximum allowable consumption current from the city grid or generator. The inverter automatically and continuously controls the power distribution: powering loads — is a priority, charging batteries — from the remaining reserve, strictly not exceeding the set limit.
3. PowerAssist – instantaneous power boost at peak consumption
As soon as the total load exceeds the capabilities of the connected generator or the city grid, the inverter immediately activates the battery as an additional power source. After the peak load subsides, the system automatically returns to the standard battery charging mode.
4. Full support for solar generation
MultiPlus organically integrates into both hybrid and fully autonomous (off-grid) photovoltaic systems. Joint operation with Victron MPPT charge controllers and grid PV inverters is supported in modes of self-consumption, emergency backup, and operation without an external grid.
5. Remote monitoring and system control
Connecting the inverter to Cerbo GX or Ekrano GX system controllers (or via the VE.Bus Smart Dongle wireless module via Bluetooth) provides full remote access to control and view parameters via the VRM cloud portal from any geographic location.
6. Remote configuration of all parameters
Using the VRM platform or directly connecting a PC via the MK3-USB adapter, any parameter of the inverter can be changed at any convenient time: threshold voltages, operating modes, current limits, programmable relay logic, and other functions.
7. Parallel and three-phase configurations
Parallel combination of up to 6 inverters into a single powerful single-phase system is allowed. It is also possible to form a full-fledged three-phase configuration from 3 inverters with support for parallel operation of several devices in each phase — an ideal solution for industrial facilities and mini-power plants.
Use cases
- Autonomous and backup power supply for private houses and dachas
- Office buildings and commercial real estate — power backup and tariff consumption balancing
- Farms and agro-industrial complexes — reliable power for pumping, ventilation, and refrigeration equipment
- Yachts and boats, campers, motorhomes – complete energy independence at any point on the route
- Production enterprises and workshops – stable powerful power supply for industrial equipment and machines
- Hybrid solar power plants (ESS) – deep integration with PV inverters and battery energy storage systems
- Backup power for critical infrastructure (security and fire systems, telecommunication equipment, IT server rooms)
Has the ECE R10-4 (EMC) electromagnetic compatibility standard
ECE R10-4 – is an international electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) standard that establishes requirements for electronic equipment used on vehicles. The permissible level of radiated electromagnetic interference is standardized, and requirements for the device's immunity to the effects of external electromagnetic fields are set.
What does the ECE R10-4 certificate mean for Victron Energy inverters?
Low level of electromagnetic radiation
– Inverters do not create radio frequency interference that could disrupt radio communications, GPS navigation systems, mobile networks, or other electronic systems of a car, yacht, or industrial transport.
High resistance to electromagnetic interference
– Inverters maintain stable operability under conditions of exposure to powerful electromagnetic fields and sharp voltage surges typical of cargo and construction transport.
Safe integration into transport onboard systems
– Complies with the requirements of the UNECE (ECE), ensuring the legal right to install inverters in passenger cars, campers, marine vessels, and other vehicles without the risk of disrupting the engine control unit, ABS system, and other electronic safety systems.
Confirmed compliance with international standards
– The ECE R10-4 certificate is official evidence that Victron Energy products have undergone a full cycle of laboratory tests and fully comply with international safety requirements for transport applications.
What does this give users of Inverter Smart inverters?
- Legal operation of equipment in vehicles without additional certification.
- Complete electromagnetic compatibility with onboard systems – the inverter does not interfere with radio communication, navigation, autopilot, GPS, and other instruments.
- Reliable operation in severe conditions – marine vessels, residential trailers, commercial and special vehicles.
- Protection from electromagnetic interference – the inverter is immune to sharp voltage changes in the vehicle's electrical system.
Supports ESS (Energy Saving System)
Victron ESS – a next-generation smart energy system that allows you to:
-
Intelligent source management (grid/generator, battery, solar energy) – priority given to renewable energy.
