SmartShunt 500A is a modern displayless battery monitor integrated directly into the current measuring shunt. It connects via Bluetooth directly to your smartphone or tablet, or to GX series devices (via VE.Direct cable).
The model is ideal for systems based on LiFePO₄, AGM and GEL batteries, where you need to save space and an external screen is not required - all data is visualized in the VictronConnect application or on Cerbo GX, Ekrano GX panels. Data transfer to marine plotters (Navico, Raymarine, Garmin) is also supported.
The main advantages of the Victron SmartShunt monitor
- No external screen - fewer wires, more freedom thanks to Bluetooth
- Built-in Bluetooth Smartfor easy setup from your phone
- VE.Direct connector for work with GX equipment and VRM portal
- Capacity: up to 500 A
- Detailed telemetry:
- Charge level (SoC) in percent
- Current amperage
- Main voltage
- Capacity used, Ah
- Estimated operating time before discharge
- Midpoint voltage assessmentfor multi-section 24/48V batteries
- Possibility of temperature adjustment (with sensor)
- Programmable relay logic - for operation with generators or loads
- Minimum energy consumption

Where used
- Compact ESS solutions based on LiFePO₄
- SUVs, campers, caravans and yachts with limited dashboard space
- Industrial complexes controlled by Cerbo GX
- Telecom base stations
Available interfaces
- Bluetooth Smart - for VictronConnect app
- VE.Direct connector - for communication with the VRM portal and GX panels
- Relay output - for automation (generator control)
- Temperature input - for correction of charging profiles
Can balance (Midpoint voltage)
Midpoint control allows you to:
- Evaluate charge uniformity in assemblies of several 12V or 2V blocks
- Notice the wear and tear of one specific cell until the entire battery fails
- Enable automatic alarm in case of voltage discrepancy
- Especially recommended for high voltage systems with LiFePO₄
Backup generator control
Using the built-in functionality, SmartShunt can:
Give a signal to start the generator if:
- Remaining energy (SoC) below 50%
- The voltage has dropped below the specified level
Stop the generator if:
- The battery charge level was 95% or more
- Charging current has dropped below the absorption mark
Perfectly combined with LiFePO₄ batteries:
- Due to the ability to take high currents, the generator operates for less time.
- Maximum efficiency and fuel economy.
