The Argofet 200-2 Battery Isolator from Victron Energy (200A) – is a high-tech separator based on field-effect FET transistors, which allows simultaneously charging two separate batteries from a single source (whether it's an engine alternator or a mains charger), completely eliminating their electrical shorting to each other.
Unlike outdated diode analogs, the Argofet architecture uses solid-state switches (MOSFET), which guarantees practically zero voltage losses – less than 0.02 V at low current and only about 0.1 V at peak loads.
This technology ensures one hundred percent charging efficiency, eliminating the need to artificially increase the output voltage on the alternator, which is an undeniable advantage over classic diode isolators.
The most important advantages of the Argofet 200-2 isolator
- Synchronous charge supply to 2 batteries while maintaining their full galvanic isolation
- Minimal voltage losses <0.1 V – fundamentally outperforms the parameters of diode separators
- Starter battery protection – a guarantee that the starter battery will not be drained by consumers connected to the second (service) battery
- Special Energize contact – ensures the correct start of the alternator even with an isolator in the circuit
- Modest dimensions – perfectly fits into tight under-hood spaces and compact boat lockers.
- Passive operating principle – the device does not require configuration and periodic maintenance
- Versatility – full-fledged operation in 12 V and 24 V networks
