The Argodiode 180-3AC Battery Separator (180A) – is a highly reliable diode isolator designed for simultaneously charging up to three independent batteries from a single operating alternator. At the same time, galvanic isolation prevents energy flow between the batteries. This technical solution eliminates the accidental discharge of the main starter battery during intensive use of the service battery group, ensuring maximum autonomy and fault tolerance of the power supply system.
The device is based on high-grade Schottky diodes, characterized by extremely low voltage losses. A feature of the model is the presence of a special connector for alternator excitation — this is a vital element for the correct operation of modern car alternators, which require a B+ contact to start generating current.
The most important advantages of the Argodiode 180-3AC diode isolator
- Parallel charging of up to 3 batteries from a single alternator
- Complete separation of power supply circuits – starter, domestic, and backup
- Guaranteed protection of the starter battery from being drained by additional onboard consumers
- Impressive current output: support up to 180 A (both from the charger and from the alternator)
- Minimal voltage drop due to the use of Schottky diodes (within 0.3–0.45 V)
- Integrated compensation diode – for fine correction of charge parameters
- Initial excitation contact – supplies a starting B+ pulse to the alternator through the diode isolation
- Maximum reliable fixation of power cables using M8 screw terminals
