Victron BlueSolar MPPT 150/45 — is a reliable and high-power MPPT charge controller. The device is designed to maximize solar energy harvesting and charge management in systems with a nominal voltage of 12 V, 24 V, 36 V, or 48 V. It can accept a voltage of up to 150 V from solar arrays, providing a battery charging current of up to 45 A.
The device integrates seamlessly with inverter equipment, BatteryProtect relays, BMS systems, and also supports operation with all current types of energy storage (including lithium-iron-phosphate LiFePO4).
Complete operational safety, natural heat dissipation (passive cooling), extensive programming capabilities, and the VE.Direct communication port make this device an ideal choice for building mid-power autonomous and backup power systems.
Our range also includes a similar version with a built-in Bluetooth module
Important Advantages of the BlueSolar MPPT Controller
- Peak charge current – 45 A
- Recommended solar field power - 650 W (12 V) / 1300 W (24 V) / 1950 W (36 V) / 2600 W (48V). At the same time, the device supports an excess of connected PV modules' power up to 180% of the nominal due to built-in reserves
- Compatibility with 12 V, 24 V, 36 V, and 48 V batteries (voltage is detected automatically)
- Maximum voltage from panels up to 150 V – provides a large margin of safety for operation in freezing weather (when the open-circuit voltage rises)
- Ultra-fast MPPT technology – gives an increase in generation up to 30% compared to standard PWM controllers
- Full support for lithium batteries (LiFePO4) – both via the BMS system and through manual charge settings
- Monolithic casing and passive cooling system (no coolers) – 100% silent operation
- Ultra-low self-consumption – an excellent indicator for fully autonomous systems
- Configuration via VE.Direct and the VictronConnect app – maximum variability of settings
Applied Technologies
Ultra-fast MPPT Tracker
- Guarantees the best collection of solar energy even under rapidly changing lighting conditions. The algorithm continuously scans the current-voltage characteristic and locks onto the most efficient operating point, allowing you to obtain up to 30% more electricity.
Connecting Strings up to 150 V (DC)
- Allows combining panels into long series strings while maintaining high efficiency.
- This solution significantly simplifies the installation process and minimizes energy losses during cable transmission.
Fine-tuning Charge Profiles
Absolute Integration with Li-ion Batteries
- The controller perfectly handles the charging of high-tech LiFePO4 cells, for which strict voltage control is critically important.
- Operation is possible both under the control of an external BMS and according to strictly set manual voltage parameters.
Multi-stage Electronic Protection
The device is automatically protected against:
- Critical voltage surges from PV modules
- Component overheating (due to automatic output power limitation)
- Connecting panels with reverse polarity
- Supplying excessive voltage to the battery bank
Where It Can Be Used
- Power systems for private households (off-grid) – support for panel arrays with a total power of up to 3 kW
- Transport and special equipment – motorhomes, caravans, expedition vehicles
- Water transport (boats and yachts) – objects requiring the highest reliability and resistance to external factors
- Hybrid complexes with backup – in conjunction with MultiPlus or Quattro inverters
- Hard-to-reach infrastructure objects – communication towers, repeaters, autonomous navigation and video surveillance systems
Communication, Configuration, and Monitoring
VE.Direct port – main integration channel:
- Direct connection to Cerbo GX, Venus GX, Color Control GX displays and hubs
- Communication with laptops and PCs (if a VE.Direct to USB cable is available)
- Wireless data transfer via Bluetooth (when the VE.Direct Bluetooth Smart Dongle accessory is connected)
- Ability for deep configuration of all algorithms in the VictronConnect mobile utility
- Clear LED indication on the device itself – informing about the current charge phase, panel status, and errors occurred
Methods of Load Switching
Due to the lack of a dedicated Load terminal block, the following devices are used to control and protect consumers:
- BatteryProtect Relay – for automatic de-energization of lines when the battery voltage drops
- VE.Bus BMS or Lynx Smart BMS blocks – when designing systems on lithium elements
- Multifunctional MultiPlus / Quattro Inverters – which use their own flexible protection algorithms
